In Hit List 3.x versions and older, there was a quirk
with the Uninstaller that requires commenting out a line
in the uninstall log to allow the Uninstaller to complete
correctly. This does NOT apply to any Hit List v4 products!
These instructions are:
1) Back up your reports database (save the
custom reports youÍve created and import them after the
reinstall). If uninstalling completely, ignore this step.
Report Database Default Names
Hlrpt30s.mdb ¿ Reports database for Standard 3.0
Hlrpt30i.mdb - Reports database for Standard for Intranets
3.x
Hlrpt35p.mdb ¿ Reports database for Professional 3.5
Hlrpt35q.mdb ¿ Reports database for Professional Intranet
3.5
Hlrpt35e.mdb ¿ Reports database for Enterprise 3.5
2) Attempt to remove HitList From Add/Remove
Programs in the Control Panel. Run the Uninstall from
Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Note the name
and location of the ST4Unst.log file referenced in the
error that it says may be "corrupt".
Now, do a Windows Find on ST4Unst.log and open it in WordPad.
Find the line shown below and place a semi-colon in front
of it.
Example:
;ACTION: TLBRegister: ñC:\WINNT\system32\StdOle2.tlbî
3) Save the ST4Unst.log file and repeat step
2. It should now work.
4) If the uninstall doesn't do it for you (should),
you may want to delete the Marketwave folder under Program
Files as well as under Program Files\Common Files as well
as removing the Remote Reporting components in the /stats,
/scripts and /mwgraphs directories on the webserver (assuming
you're using Remote Reports).
