In 4.x versions of Hit List, HTML frames capability was added
to the HTML reports that Hit List generates. However, in some
cases due to older browsers or for simply personal preferences,
frames are not desired. Below is the method for turning off
this feature.
Go to Start/Run and type Regedit, then hit Enter
Go to \hkey_local_machine\software\marketwave\marketwave
hit list\preferences\
Right-click the Preferences key and create New . . . String
Value
Call this "FramesetMode" without the quotes and hit Enter
Now right-click the string value you just created and "modify"
it with one of the following numbers below, according to
preference:
0 = Framesetmode_verbose -- the default. Adds the text
from the report into both the Frameset page and the "report"
page.
1 = Framesetmode_simple - creates the framset and nav pages
like above but doesn't add text from the report into the
framset. Instead, it adds something like "You need a browser
that supports frames to view this report. Please download
one from Netscape or Microsoft." The advantage here is that
long reports could cause a lot of wasted hard-disk space
by duplicating the data when there are probably very few
people left on the Internet who don't use a frame-capable
browser (Netscape 1, IE 1 and 2, Mosaic, etc.)
2 = Framesetmode_none - Does not create the frameset at
all -- acts just like 3.x versions of HL or similar to the
way the report appears in a Word doc.
