Steve Hurst reports in Customer Management magazine on how John Lewis has put
Internet Analytics and Pilot HitList at the heart of its approach.
Working with Pilot HitList John Lewis has implemented an
analytical and reporting system that allow anyone across
the organisation to explore how its e-retail website is being
used. Simon Palethorpe, managing director of John Lewis Direct
said "John Lewis has always traded on value and customer
service and we know customers wouldn't accept poor service
- that meant we had to get the site right in terms of performance
and usability. Our users are not forgiving."

Web visitor location mystery tackled by Geolocation module for Pilot HitList
A Geolocation module has been developed specifically for
use with the Pilot HitList family of web analytics software.
This allows people to analyse more accurately the country
visitors reside in. Currently most analytics systems classify
all .com visitors as being from the United States, even though
a high proportion are not.
